My state refund says the payer ID is wrong but I checked and made sure it is correct. It won’t let me file and I think it’s a bug. What do I do?

I tried going back and changing the number but it won’t let me edit it. The website trips out when I get to that part of filing. It won’t let me edit any of the info on my state tax information.

Is it on a W-2, 1099 (what type of 1099), etc.?    And what state?   Is it Utah by any chance?  i.e., is it called a Utah Payer withholding ID?   Is it an error on Utah "Form TC-40W?"

It is Utah and it was on my W-2. It just says Employers State ID Number. Yes, it is an error on Utah form TC-40W

When entering the W-2, the Utah Employer/Payer state withholding ID number in Box 15 must be 14 characters in length.   It will be 11 numbers then ends with the additional letters wth.   Do not use any hyphens/dashes.    Several Utah users say they have to use lower case wth to get it to work.

If there are any 1099's with an employer/payer withholding ID number, you may have to use lower case on those, too.

I changed the WTH to lower case and it worked! Thanks!
