On my self employed schedule C, my business income is $18,388. When it transferred over to my MA State form, my income(that states it was transferred from my federal return) is $18,334. A difference of $54.00. I have checked everything. The only thing different this year is we sold a business vehicle, that we took actual expense on, used 100% for business, and did not use it for trade. I even went in and changed a value for my income to see if it changed on my state, and it did, so I know it is transferring over to the state. But I don't know why my State of MA is showing $54.00 less then my federal self employment income. Is there something that MA does not tax that I am not aware of? I have run all the state/federal checks. No errors. Thank you

I got expert help . She looked over my return and it’s in order . She is not sure why there is a 54.00 difference. But to go ahead and file, and will be fine. Thank you .
MA does a couple things different, such as not allowing health insurance paid on the MA Schedule C, but without actually looking at the return, it's hard to say.
I would look for something that you expensed for 54.00
You can also look at your MA schedule C and compare that to the federal Schedule C.

We didn’t pay into health insurance.
The tax expert looked over my entire return, and couldn’t find any errors , or where the $54.00 difference was.
looked over 1040 and all the math adds up .
She said to go ahead and file , and it would not be an issue .
