My PC TurboTax 2018 program abruptly shuts down when I select my tax file to continue working on it. I can't open my return. How do I prevent this automatic shutdown?

This occurred immediately after TurboTax installed its newest updates on 23 September 2019.

One other thing (or 2) it could be..

1) ..if there is a partially-installed Windows update waiting, you might have to fully reboot your computer before attempting to open TurboTax again.

2)  If that file was on a usb-connected hard drive.....don't put your files there...put them only on the Main computer system disk in the TurboTax directory.  Placing a "copy" of tax files on a remote drive or flash memory is only done for backup purposes.  The files need to be worked on only the main system hard disk.

Other than those thoughts...Customer Support needs to work with you (as already noted above)
