My Mom passed away in October of 2017 and the assets were distributed from the trust in 2018. Do I need to file a tax return for her or the the trust?

 And if so, how do I do it?  I have the Home and Business version of TurboTax. Do I need to buy another version of TurboTax?

I am very sorry for your loss. 

If a tax return was filed for 2017 for your Mom, that should have been her final return.

For the trust, a final return will need to be filed for it for 2018.
