My ministry occurred some legal fees in another country. Is this deductible?

One of the missionaries was taken into custody at the airport on a missions trip, and we donated funds for the legal fees. Are we able to deduct these fees? We donated the funds through the ministry.

If you donated funds to the Ministry, then the donation would be a charitable donation. What the ministry used the money for does not determine whether your donation is deductible.
