My Income Summary for 1099-Div has a Math Error
It says the Current Year total for 1099-DIV is $26,182, and it underlines it.
When I click on the hyperlink to view the details, it says the only dividend entered so far is $12,095.
I uploaded my file, and it was assigned token: 144428508-55698696
(It is tedious to have to type that by hand. Enabling a text copy would be helpful for that.)
This occurred in the TT 2025 Premier edition for Windows.
How can I get the summary total to reconcile with the detail item that was entered?
Thanks for letting me ask about that.
Steve

I have reviewed the token you provided, and your tax return is correct. There are dividends of $12,905 entered from your 1099-DIVs, which can be matched to your 1040 line 3b. The total you see of $26,182 incudes those dividends, plus $13,277 of tax exempt interest that was also reported on the 1099-DIVs as well. You can see the $13,277 on your 1040 line 2a.
Ok. I can accept that explanation. You might consider letting the pop-up details box show both kinds of interest that add up to the total. Thanks.
