My id is not from my filing state do I use it?

You are not required to enter an ID to e-file a federal return. It adds some security for you but is not required. Some states are pretty picky about the drivers license or state ID you can enter in order to e-file. If your state will not let you e-file with an ID from a different state, then mail your state return.
