My husband received two W-2s from his employer (he left for another company, then returned). The amounts are different; do we add them together or separately?

Wondering if the system will allow me to file two W-2s from the same employer with the same tax number or if I should just add the dollar amounts together and list just one W-2.

Try reporting them separately. If you can’t, add them together.
