My husband and I have been separated since 2017. I filed for divorce last year but it has not been finalized. What filing status do I fall all under?

We have no children and no community properties. Husband moved to California I live in Texas.

Since you were still legally married in 2021 you have to file as Married Filing Separately on the 2021 tax return.

You are still legally married so you should file "married, filing separately"
