Intuit should issue a partial refund for this issue. Re-filing and rejections can cause us to have to ultimately file via US Mail which is much slower and most time-consuming. Not to mention the hours spent pouring over our tax returns to try to correct the missing information. The issue is clearly Intuit's fault and their customers should be reimbursed for the hassle.

So, were they ever even submitted in the first place? Or did the TurboTax system never even submit them to the IRS?

Update: Looks like Turbo Tax fix the problem around 1:30am this morning. Just got a notification from both the IRS and the State that my Return has been Accepted.

This has been poorly handled. Do affected users need to refile their returns or will Intuit do it automatically? If the former, how will we know the bug has been fixed and can attempt to refile? Are we simply supposed to keep checking these comment boxes for an official statement from Intuit?

Had the same issue and refiled an hour ago after reading melanieloo70 comment....Federal got accepted within the hour

Should I just go ahead and re-submit then? Ran into the same error but didn't proceed with e filing again last night now knowing what's happening at Turbotax.

Can Turbo Tax please provide an official response on when we can refile?

I resubmitted it an hour ago and I just got an email that Federal tax is accepted. So just have to log in and resubmit your returns. Wish Turbox tax did a better job in communicating this issue.

We don't have a confirmation (At least I don't!), but I just took the risk and re-submitted after reading the above comments an hour ago. Both my Federal and State are now accepted.

Why do I have to scour the forums and read through dozens/hundreds of posts to try to see if there's an update or solution to this problem? Seriously TurboTax, this is very poorly handled and very disconcerting. Two weeks before the tax deadline and your software is still not up to date, allowing people to submit saying everything is fine, and then we get rejections. I now have a severe lack of confidence in the product. By the way, is the problem fixed TurboTax? Official response please?

I submitted last night and it got rejected few mins ago. I opened TT on my mac and it downloaded a new update and so I assume thats the fix and I re-filed it again now. fingers crossed...

All the comments here are not unreasonable.  The honorable thing to do is clearly and honestly communicate the situation as it is known and as it gets updates.  It took 5 days to get the IRS rejection.  I was further worried when the 8960 reject code looked NOTHING like the reject codes on the IRS site... Google was my answer.  Google alleviated my continued concerns.  Google.  Not Intuit.  Google.  Thank you, Google.

Completely agree with the comments above.  Called customer service and after 10 minutes of an automated recording maze, I COULD NOT speak to a live person.  The automated recording would only send me "detailed instructions" via text or email.  THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING.  Shame on you TurboTax.  I resubmitted my returns and am crossing my fingers that it works this time.  A "product update"?  Does that mean that a faulty Turbo Tax product caused my returns to be rejected?  Broken product.  Broken customer service... what are we paying Turbo Tax for exactly?  I've used Turbo Tax to file all of my tax returns over the last 10+, but given this experience - if Turbo Tax doesn't step up to address this situation properly, I may have to take my business elsewhere next year.  Your move Turbo Tax.
