My 1099 Misc income for Connecticut EITC is placed under business income NOT under the initial EITC screen for w2 and 1099. Should I be worried?

I noticed as I went through my CT return the first screen for EITC specifically read for w2 and 1099 and second screen read for Business income. What really has me worried is I viewed my tax return via pdf at the end right before e filing (which I have not completed yet because of this). It specifically reads on the State form for EITC one section for w2 and 1099 income and other income NOT reported on w2 or 1099 (this is where my 1099 income is placed) I am just afraid to halt this process. I do have other self-employed income (Cash) and I have worked for hours to make sure nothing seems out of sorts. That everything is put in accurately and all my documentation adds up. So I hope you can see why just this small thing really matters and would really really really hate for this process to take longer than necessary due to this.  Just a side note, to avoid help with answering,  there is a way to manually add/edit income on the w2/1099 EITC screen but NOT the business income screen. I even deleted and reentered my 1099 MISC  and it is still the same.

As long as you have kept detailed records of your income and expenses, you should be fine.  Self-Employment income is business income.  So if you have self-employment income (1099-MISC income with amounts in Box 7), it will show up as business income.

Yes, I have all the documentation. The wording of the paperwork just scared me a bit. I agree and thought the same thing as you said but again just wanted to make sure. Thank you for the reassurance and the very prompt response Dawn!!
