Moving to new state
We’re moving to Arizona from Ca, how does this change our tax filing next year?

Moving to new state
Good question!
In addition to your federal return, you will need to file two state returns, a part-year resident return for CA and a part-year resident return for AZ. The income you earned while you were a resident in CA will be taxed in CA and the income you earned while living in AZ will be taxed in AZ.

Moving to new state
Hello!
Congrats on the move!
You will also most likely need to file a part-year return for each state you lived in: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/state-taxes/help/how-do-i-file-a-part-year-state-return/00/26057
The above link gives instructions for the process for this.
You also may have a new state income tax rate for Arizona so be aware of that. The program will calculate this for you.
Also, when filing a part-year state return, you need to allocate the income for when you were in each state. This link has some helpful information on that; https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/income/help/how-do-i-allocate-split-income-for-a-part-year-state-r...
Hope this helps!
