I receive subsidized gaurdianship payments for the children. Do I have to claim that money?

I get A check once a month for the kids from the state. Does that have to be claimed?

Most of the time it is not income.

"Foster care providers.   Generally, payment you receive from a state, political subdivision, or a qualified foster care placement agency for caring for a qualified foster individual in your home is excluded from your income.
