I have used Turbo Tax for many years and have always come back. I am very frustrated at this point. I am trying to do my daughter's taxes. She is a struggling college student, she has no deductions so the Free Edition was perfect. She was happy to get the Frontline worker pay, now not so much!. We are trying to do her taxes, she is only getting $30 back from Federal and $60 from state. Now Turbo Tax is saying she needs to upgrade to Turbo Tax Deluxe pay the $59 for Fed and $59 for state, just to report the MISC income for MN Frontline worker pay. So she is paying in more than she is getting back for ONE form. THis is ridiculous! I did go back in and then was able to go back to the free edition, however worried that the correct form the federal is requiring will not be reported. There has to be an easier way of filing.

I am very disappointed in Turbo Tax at this time. I had sent a message online, also placed a call, sat on hold for 35 minutes and still had not talked to a live person. Was routed somewhere that did not get an answer to the question I had. I am feeling like Turbo Tax is a great product, but has gone backwards in customer service. I also am questioning why the price to file turbo tax for a student only having to upgrade to Deluxe because of frontline worker pay is having to pay more in fees than I did with multiple deductions and multiple schedules to file. Please advise on how she could get a discounted rate? Is there a student rate or anything?
