I filed my 2021 tax retçurn in April of 2022. Because of a software bug in a prior edition, several tax returns needed to be amended, including the 2021 one. The TurboTax agent who helped me suggested I first paper file the prior years and see if the IRS confirmed having received them and then efile the 2021 one after that. Only if close to the October deadline, I hadn't heard from the IRS, should I efile, in order not to lose the efile window.
I did that. I left it all ready to just hit submit. Well... lo and behold, I got:
Your transmission didn't go through
TurboTax was unable to send your return to the Intuit Electronic Filing Center, for the following reason:
cancelled
Looks like we've had a technical issue
I spent 2.5 hours with an enrolled agent, but there was no way to fix it. We tried clearing cookies and also installing the program in a different laptop, to no avail.
After hanging up, I also tried entering my new ID dates (since I renewed it after April), same result.
Does anyone know a fix?
