Medical expenses not paid from my HSA

Hi,

I don't pay my medical and LTC insurance premiums from my HSA and are the bulk of my medical expenses.  After I enter all of my medical expenses in TT, on the medical expenses worksheet, all of my HSA distributions are being subtracted from my medical expenses even though I didn't pay my premiums from the HSA.  Is this correct?  Shouldn't it only subtract from those expenses paid from the HSA?

Never mind, I just answered my own question.  I couldn't figure out how to delete this post.

In case anyone else is looking at this post, when TurboTax asks you to input your medical expenses, you must include all medical expenses, including those paid from the HSA during the year.  TurboTax then subtracts the amount distributed from your HSA that you indicated as used for qualified medical expenses to determine the amount of medical expenses eligible to be reported on Schedule A.

@m208480 if you are taking HSA distributions other than to pay or reimburse yourself for qualified medical expenses, those would be subject to income taxes and penalties.
