Mailing W7 with my tax return

Hi, How can I finalize the process and print my tax return to be able to mail it to IRS together with W7 form for my son? Since he doesn't have an SSN I need to apply for ITIN so I was advised to send both together but can't seem to be able to finalize the process here.

Yes. I would like to finalize, print and mail (not send online) but it prompts an error with the missing SSN.

You need to write "Applied For ITIN" after you print the return. You will need to do this manually, in writing.

In Turbo Tax, enter the "dummy" ITIN number 999-88-9999 in the SSN field so the forms can be completed. You will need to white-out this number so you can write "Applied For" when you print the error.

Once you print the return, kindly remove this SSN from Turbo Tax. If you have a state return to file, you can file that return after you receive the actual number.

Hello, I did just that and I filed my federal return on paper together with my dependents' W7 in February. I now have their ITINs, which I want to add to my state return AND E-FILE my STATE return. I don't need to amend (i.e. wait for 1040x) to do that, but Turbotax won't let me go back to edit my dependents' information. Help please!
