Local income tax not on w2 - I pay the city directly for my local income tax as a result this tax does not show up on my w2. Where do I enter this local income tax?
You'll enter this by clicking on the Federal Taxes tab, then Deductions & Credits, then scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid and select Estimates.
You'll land on the Estimated Taxes page where you'll see headings for federal, state, and local estimated taxes paid. Here you'll select Local estimated taxes for 2016 and follow the prompts to enter the amounts and dates.
If you pay taxes during the year (and the amounts are not withheld from your pay) then they're considered "estimates," which is why you're entering them this way. You'll notice that the input screen allows for four quarterly payments. If you paid in some other fashion, just arrange & enter them using the quarterly dates (you may or may not use all four).
