Loading TT on another computer

I'm loading TT on my laptop to do taxes at another location.  Do I need to copy previous tax returns to the laptop?

If you're loading (installing) TurboTax to your laptop and:

1. you started your income tax return on your main computer, you'll need your 2020 .tax file or
2. if you haven't started your 2020 income tax return on your main computer, you'll need your 2019 .tax file.

There should be a card in the CD case on on the CD envelope that says how to download it and you will need the 14 or 16 digit code from it to enter.

But if you first installed from the CD it may not let you download it.  There is a problem if you first installed the CD.  It doesn't connect you to an account you can find.  You have to call in and ask for the download and a new License Code.  Hopefully you get a customer service person who know about it.
