Live help with CD version

I have seen it stated everywhere that TT Live is NOT available with the CD version, and is only available with the online version.

However, when I mentioned this to a Tax Expert (from Wednesday's tax expert forum), they said that I should be able to call in and get help with my questions, for an "upgraded charge".

Is this true and if so, how can I do it?

I am part of the community forum, but am not able to get all my questions answered.

    with the CD you can call support

    click help tab

    click contact us

    enter question

    click continue

    click call us

    enter your info

    click get a phone number

    you'll get a phone number and case number write it down

    you will likely be put into a waiting line and should eventually get a callback

    when they call back they may ask to share your return with them  - screen share - not required but it could make it impossible for them to resolve your issue

    The "expert" who said that to you was confused.  It is only with online TurboTax that you can use the live help from a CPA, and only if you upgrade to TurboTax Live.   If you are using the C D/download you do not have access to those "live" experts.   You can post questions here in the user forum, or you can contact customer support.   But, to be clear----you do not have access to the "Live" tax help when you use the CD/download.

    Actually, if I call that number, am I speaking to a tax expert? (CPA?)

    Or just someone who can answer TT technical questions?

    That is just to Turbo Tax support, not the live expert.  The Desktop CD/Download program does not have the LIVE expert help feature.  Only the Online versions have Live support.  See the Note at the bottom of this
