Once again, as happens every year, something screwy jumps up.
In the last step during filing, the program says I needed to file an Alabama Form 2210 to take care of a penalty. It did not appear in the filing information AND, it is not an included form in TT.
It's always an adventure using this program. The only reason I use it is H&R Block is worse. Hard to believe but true IMHO.

As you may know by now, the 2210 is for the calculation of the underpayment of estimated tax and any exceptions.
During the Alabama interview if your tax due is larger than a certain amount (probably $1,000), there will be a screen entitled "Underpayment Penalty". There are two buttons to click here:
* Yes, include the penalty on this return by requesting a waiver of penalty or using the annualized income installment method
* No, let Alabama send me a bill
Which one did you click on? Neither? I am thinking (based on the message you got) that had you clicked in the second button that you would not have seen that message about needing to file a 2210.
If you clicked YES (or just tried to continue through), you will be asked a lot of questions with the intent to find an exception to the penalty. However, it seems to me that this would create the 2210.
I see that TurboTax does support the AL 2210, but it is not available for e-filing. So if you want to e-file, you may want to change the button for "let Alabama send me a bill". You just have to remember that Alabama will send you a bill for the underpayment.
Does that cover your situation?
