Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

It's saying TC-40W (1): Employee SSN=1 must enter employee social security number, you must go back to federal W-2 or 1099 to enter your employee social security number.

I'm reviewing the entry, but there are no clickable fields.  I've looked everywhere for how to get into my w-2, but there is no option to "I choose what I work on" or anything.  The only stuff I can edit are my employer's data.  I even tried deleting everything out and starting over, but it's giving me the same error.

Spent 30 minutes on the phone with turbo tax and it was decided that it was a software error and I needed to keep checking back. Next day I deleted my W2 and reloaded it and that error didn't come up again and I could go ahead and file.

deezy.breezy,

I encountered this same problem. There is a bug in the Turbo Tax software where the W-2 does not "auto import" correctly every time. To fix mine I had to delete the W-2 and then "skip" the automatic W-2 import. Enter your W-2 manually.

Thanks,
Ryan
