It is not allowing me to add my own dependent relationship, it only gives an option of son or daughter.. Is this a TurboTax error or new tax guideline ruling?

Nothing account-specific can be handled in this public user forum. Here's how to be assigned a phone number to the proper department at TT Customer Support during the business hours shown below (it will not display when they are closed). Read all the steps first.

1) Go to https://support.turbotax.intuit.com/contact/
2) Choose the product platform you are using. 
3) Ask a question or keywords without quotes, and Submit.  
4) On next page, skip the suggested articles if they don't help.
5) Scroll down, and you should be able to enter the Support module to get a phone number. (That will be grayed out when they are closed).

Yea I noticed, that's why I went to community to see if they could help in the mean time because it said 24/7 tax experts would answer my questions so it was worth a shot Thanks! BTW no one answered my original question, about the options of claiming dependents, this discussion was a side bar...

no, that's how it looked in every previous year filing, only says 3. dependent is my son or daughter no drop down or other options the goes to 4. is dependent my foster child, adopted child or none of above and no drop down options either. btw I'm using Home & Business, I see your example was for premiere... You don't seem to be giving information of new tax rules so is one to assume this is more or less a turbo tax error?

Since no info was provided with the question, my screen was from the Personal Info section in the dependents section.  If this is something about EIC, then someone else will have to help you.

Even weirder is notice the question was asked by trin 215 which is my tt account but in the comment I just posted above says the name of someonelses user name account. She went on my computer to look into her taxes this afternoon, so its like they synced our accounts to be open at the same time or I'm using two accounts in one or something... What's going on, How is this possible?

NO, I haven't made it anywhere yet. I am at the personal info selection at the beginning once it was transferred from last year it asks me to update dependent info

It seems that you have 2 accounts if @trin215 and @melisahamilton55 are the same person.

You can phone the folks at  TurboTax Support during business hours on Thursday.  They can follow you through each screen in that section and even screenshare if necessary.

Also keep watching the thread, and someone may offer some suggestions.

NO I specifically stated I'm on my own account and she used my computer earlier today on her own account so how could we be the same person, especially if that is my whole complaint as to how it is possible?

The cookies on the computer  probably automatically logged into whichever account created them.  Delete the browsers cookies.
