I'm using the Desktop TurboTax Premier. I have many cryptocurrency transactions that were not required to have a 1099-DA issued. I used an aggregator service to compile these transactions and uploaded them with a .txt file. When it uploaded them, it brought it over as a 1099-B with box C checked (Short-term (box C) = Short-term did not receive 1099-B form). While this is correct for a 1099-B form, I need this to transition to Form 8949 with box I selected for Short-term digital asset transactions not reported to you on Form 1099-DA or Form 1099-B. I tried to edit via the Forms section of TurboTax, but the field cannot be edited. Any suggestions?

It depends. If the holding periods are correct you can process your return with the information you imported. If not, you can make any necessary changes to the date acquired. Keep in mind the 1099-DA is not required for 2025, it will be for 2026. As long as the transactions are correct the 1099-B filing should move forward without concern. Also be sure to answer the question about digital assets after the income section.
