TurboTax Home & Business is a desktop program and TurboTax Self Employed is the online equivalent. There are different pros and cons for using each.

The most notable pro for using the desktop software is the ability to e-file up to five Federal returns.

They are the same software just with a different interface for usage. Although the desktop Home & Business Edition includes one free state program download included in the purchase price whereas the Self-Employed edition does not. Also the desktop Home & Business desktop edition has direct access to all forms, schedules and worksheets, the online Self-Employed edition does not.
