I am not aware of you to stop it; however, is this a conversation with your lawyer ? you did file joint is the issue which means you both authorized it.

that is really a legal question. Since it is a joint tax return that in effect means you both submitted and signed the return. Talk to your lawyer.
one other thought..... if the money is direct deposited into a joint account, then you both have the right to withdraw.... if it comes by check, PRESUMABLY both names are on the check and technically both of you would have to endorse it to have it cashed.. if the check is made out to both of you and he attempts to cash it without your endorsement, that is a form of fraud,
