The instructions in TurboTax are not clear. I thought it was supposed to be listed as income. However, I now understand that the stimulus checks should not be listed on the tax return

You MUST go through the Federal Review section and enter whether you received the stimulus payment and how much you received. You are not taxed on it, but you cannot get it twice. If you answer incorrectly it will cause a long delay for your refund.
