You must have a dependent claimed on your tax return to be eligible for Qualified Surviving Spouse.

Sorry---no, if you do not have a dependent then you will now file as Single.   If you are using online TurboTax you should start a new account with a new user ID instead of using the old account that was used for joint returns.   It is too difficult to remove the information about a spouse from the return if you transfer the old joint return in to the new one.
