Is asking for my ID to file my taxes and verify my identity with the IRS. But my license is expired. Do I put I have one or that I don't?

Your drivers license is not required for filing your federal tax return, although entering the information adds some security to filing.   You can skip entering your drivers license to e-file your federal return.   Some states are pretty picky about entering a valid state ID to e-file the state.   You might have to print and mail your state if the state will not let you e-file without a current unexpired ID.
