Irs student loan payment

I have a student loan in collections, both State and Federal taxes took a portion of my tax return to go towards it. How long will it take to show the payment and my balance going down on my credit report? I filed Feb 1st

That's up to the collector of the debt, based on when and if they report anything to the credit reporting agencies. Since it cost money for them do that, they generally only do such updates once a year, or when the debt is fully paid off.
