My question is not directly related to turbotax but hopefully I could still get some instructions here. I'm looking to download online version of my Transcript from IRS website. It says one out of multiple requirements I need to have is mobile phone number with my name on account. So phone number must be associated with my name. This tells me that phone number must be verifiable.
All I have is prepaid phone number without my name on it. I don't want to subsribe for the mobile service just to get Transcript (online). However, I'm looking to add my name on my phone number and make it verifiable. Could anyone please tell me in detail how this can be done? So automated phone number verification system in the background of IRS' online transcript functionality will be, for sure, able to verify the phone number. I'm looking for steps how to add my name to the phone number so it can be verified? To clarify, I'm basically asking you how and where to associate my name with phone number.
Also, for those of you who are very experienced with online transcript, is receiving verification SMS a must to do or can be verification done via automated incoming call too?
