If you file your tax return by mail instead of e-filing, then you were supposed to sign and date the return in ink next to the words "Sign here". If you filed a joint return, the return must be signed and dated by both spouses. If you neglected to sign, the IRS sends it back to you, and you need to sign it , date it in ink, and mail it back. Once a human opens the envelope and enters your return into the system, (which might be in three or four weeks), you can track your refund on the IRS refund site.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
