Importing Quickbooks Desktop 2017 into TurboTax Business 2023

When I try to import my QuickBooks Desktop 2017 file into TurboTax Business 2023, it says "QuickBooks Desktop Not Installed". I get this message whether QB is open or not. Is there a way to help point TTB to the QB company file?

Has TTB de-supported QB 2017? The import worked fine with TTB 2022.

Well that link does say from QuickBooks 2019-2023.  But that is to the personal versions of Turbo Tax.  For Business program did you see this one?  Your 2017 QB is probably too old now.

There have been several posts from people having  trouble importing from QuickBooks so far this year.  Maybe Turbo Tax needs an update.    I've been searching on the QuickBooks support site and all the posts are for importing from QuickBooks Online not Desktop.   I did find one result over there but the employee only pointed to this TT article.

Wait, I found this recent one for Desktop QB.  Maybe add on to it with your year.

That QuickBooks thread you referenced exactly describes my problem. And luckily I can avoid repeating all of the frustrating interactions that guy had with Intuit support. The short answer is that there is no reason to use TurboTax Business any more if it won't import from my QuickBooks 2017. There are other vendors who have web-based solutions for small business taxes.

Yeah, I've about had it with Intuit.  Can't import from QB 2019, not even as old as 2017.  And they don't make a client version anymore.  You have to put it all on line with their servers.  I'll be looking for better tools.  Happy to know of any.

The only other self-preparation app I am aware of for 1120-S is TaxAct. It doesn't import from QuickBooks either, but at least it is a modern web-based app. I'll give that a try next year.
