Importing Brokerage data does not work

I finally pieced it together from several other replies.  Edge is now broken as far as TurboTax is concerned.  But there is a solution:

Change your primary browser to Chrome or any other browser you have installed.

Hopefully you are on a Windows machine.  If not, google how to change your default browser on a Mac.

Click on the Start menu and select Settings

Click on the 3 little lines in the top left and of the Settings window and click on Apps

Select Default apps from the menu

Scroll down to Microsoft Edge since that is your current default browser and click on it

Pick Google Chrome or another browser you have installed and click on it

A window will pop up, Click on the Set Default button.  I rebooted my machine after this but I don't know if that was necessary.

Now go back into TT and get to the import screen.  Select your institution and click continue.

A BOX SHOULD POP UP ASKING SOMETHING ABOUT WHETHER THE APP CAN ACCESS OTHER DEVICES ON YOUR NETWORK.  YOU HAVE TO SAY YES TO THIS QUESTION!  If you say no, you can never get back to it and imports won't work.

After it says success, you can go back to TT and the forms should be listed.  It then asks if you want to import them now.  You have to answer Yes again because there is no button that says:  Of course I want to import them, why do you think I'm doing this!!

There should be one good form and many blank forms in Turbo Tax, one for each time you tried.  You will need to delete all the blank forms.

After you're done, you can reset your browser selecting Chrome then choosing Edge again as the default if desired.

Sorry this is so long.  I had to piece together a lot of replies and internet searches to get this to work.  Hope it helps

Importing Brokerage data does not work

Previous post edited for clarity. I must be the only one having a problem importing from

Wells Fargo.  I do not see what others have reported (import appears to complete but nothing shows up). And yes I have successfully imported from Wells Fargo in the past.

I start the import and almost immediately the following message appears:

Your Wells Fargo account stopped syncing to TTWin

That's it. No completion message.

I've tried several times using Firefox and Edge. My windows 11 Home is up to date.

From the message it appears TT and Wells Fargo connect initially.

I am also having problems importing Wells Fargo data.  I changed default browser to Google per another user's recommendation and that worked for Merrill Lynch & Fidelity.  Unfortunately it didn't work for Wells because Wells has another popup message that other firms don't have.

"Let's get your forms.  You can ask Wells Fargo if you'll get tax forms this year, and return to import when they're available.  If you already have the info, you can enter it by hand. (902)   Auto import my Wells Fargo forms for me when they're ready." [Toggle Button]  [OK Button]

Thanks for replying. I never got as far as you did. As soon as I started the import this message appeared:

Your Wells Fargo account stopped syncing to TTWin

I last tried a couple of days ago. Did you ever see this message?

In case the import never works I've started entering the 1099 forms by hand. Tedious but one does what one must. I'll try the import every few days until I give up.

I am having the same issue and can not figure it out. It went smoothly last year but is not showing up this year and there are a lot of sales so I can't input manually!

Importing Brokerage data does not work

I never received that message BUT I did something different from prior years.  Instead of entering Wells Fargo the other option in the search box was Wells Fargo Clearing Services.  I used that option and all of my data came in.  I should also mention I did a Gemini AI search and it said to first sign into your Wells Fargo account and delete WF as a connected App.  That way when you import from WF to TT it starts fresh and magically it worked.  I "think" using WF Clearing Services is what did the trick because it brought up different screen from the one that was just stuck.    Good Luck!

Importing Brokerage data does not work

Frustrated 1:

I don't have an account with WF Clearing Services. I'm mostly sure that in past years I never used Clearing Services and don't remember it being an option. But I did go into my WF account and disconnected accounts from Intuit. End result is the same, import seems to start then fails with the same message:

Your Wells Fargo account stopped syncing to TTWin

But you were able to import by using Clearing Services. How did you get an account there?

I'm gonna leave this alone for few days. I've wasted hours trying to get this to work
