YES - I went in and manually entered the ADP w-2 and this fixed everything. Stupid ADP!
Like others, I found that ADP had "helpfully" obscured part of my SSN (despite it being shown in full in the upper-right corner of the form). In field "a" just above wages, mine showed "XXX-XX-1234" (the 1234 is standing in for my real four digits). Once I updated that to the full number, everything went through fine.
Although ADP is being a bit stupid here, TurboTax really should catch this and correct it.
So I had this same issue while filing my return on my phone. I had to go to my personal info, review/edit, and type my ssn in again. My personal info already showed my correct ssn, but after I backspaced and re typed it, I was then able to efile.
I am having this problem. I don't see "forms" in the upper right corner. I can't figure out how to get to screen where it shows the ssn. I have multiple w2s so I have no idea which one it is. Please help!!
Thank you for sharing this information. It is our desire to find a resolution for you and others that might be having a similar experience in the program. You can try to delete the form and re-enter, and also [clear cache and cookies/run updates] However, if this does not resolve your issue, please note the exact message and where you are encountering that message in the program. We will work with you towards a resolution to file your return accurately
Hoping this can help some!
Go in forms (top right menu), look down (left side) for w-2 (company's name), click on W2 form you want to look at and enter manually your SSN (xxx-xx-xxxx) in box a.
It looks like when W2 import or transfer to form is being done, it does not format the SSN correctly. I entered manually using standard format (xxx-xx-xxxx) and it fixed the error. Disclaimer: I can't guarantee it will fix error for all but it fixed mine:)
