If you have a self employment tax of 1600 but it says it’s reflected in your refund amount, does that mean it’s already deducted from the refund amount the system gave?

Paid no self employment tax throughout the year however I only claimed odd jobs and a small amount. I have 2 dependents under 3 as well. Will I have to pay that or is the system saying the refund I’m getting is after taking that out?

Your refund will be net of any tax liability, including self-employment tax.

Yes, the refund amount already has the self-employment tax deducted. You won't need to pay it separately.

To preview your Form 1040, take the following steps:

  1. Click on "Tax Tools" in the left menu
  2. Click "Tools"
  3. Click "View Tax Summary" in the Tool Center window
  4. Click on "Preview my 1040" on the left

The self-employment tax is shown on Line 23 of the Form 1040 and on Schedule 2, Line 4. The total refund is shown on Line 34.
