I was married on december 27, 2016. do i have to file my tatxes stating that i was married or can we both file single since we were only married for 4 days in 2016?

If you are legally married on or before 12/31/2016 you can only file your 2016 tax return as either Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately.
