I believe you are asking about deducting mortgage interest and property tax on your primary or secondary home. Anyone who paid the mortgage and was legally obligated to do so can list the mortgage interest and property tax as itemized deductions on their tax return. So, you can switch who claims the mortgage expenses under that circumstance.
