If i purchase the delux version will it cover previous years tax returns as well? i need to file 2012 - 2015 taxes.

To file a return for a prior tax year

Only a 2016 return can be prepared online and e-filed. 

 If you need to prepare a return for 2013, 2014 or 2015 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign,  and mail the return(s)

Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.

Note:  Software for 2012 is no longer available.  It is too late to file for a refund for 2012 but if you owe for 2012 you still should file a return.  Get the forms at the IRS site.

There is different software for each tax year.  You cannot use the 2016 software to prepare any other year.  Each year is a separate purchase.
