If I'm not claiming my child as a dependent should I even include her on the return? (I don't have a SSN for her yet which would preclude me from e-filing if I do)

I'm filing single as my "wife" and I are not legally married and she is claiming our daughter as a dependent.

That should be fine. If you are not claiming her on your return you can take her off completely.

You do not enter her as a dependent on your tax return.

Ya, I know that...TurboTax tells me that. Unfortunately it leaves her on the return somehow not as a dependent which was leading me to have to file by mail since she doesn't have a SSN...I took her off completely so I could E-File...hope that was ok.
