Sorry--if your return has already been accepted you cannot change the banking information that you entered.  The IRS does not allow it.   If the bank refuses the deposit the refund will go back to the IRS and then the IRS will issue and mail you a check using the address on your tax return.

Here is what the IRS says about entering incorrect banking information

If your refund is sent back to the IRS—- make certain that the address you entered on your Form 1040 is correct.  And…open all mail, even if it looks like junk mail.

You will need to cancel the federal tax payment.

  • Once your return is accepted, information pertaining to your payment, such as account information, payment date, or amount, cannot be changed. If changes are needed, the only option is to cancel the payment and choose another payment method.
  • Call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 888-353-4537 to inquire about or cancel your payment, but please wait 7 to 10 days after your return was accepted before calling.
  • Cancellation requests must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. ET two business days prior to the scheduled payment date

You can use the IRS payment website for Direct Pay to pay the taxes owed after cancelling the payment - https://www.irs.gov/payments/direct-pay
