If I e-files my return, how do I submit the form 1099s to IRS?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
When you e-file, all of your information is sent electronically. You just have to enter all of the data from the 1099's into the software. There are over dozen kinds of 1099's so tell us what kind you have---we can help with where to enter them.
when you e-file you do not submit the 1099s to the IRS even if they report withholding.
when you e-file the IRS compares what you have entered for them to the info on the 1099s they receive.
you shouldn't hear from them unless either you tor a submitter makes an error. so just keep them for at least 6 years. If the IRS wants them they'll send you a letter
The thing is I sold my second house and my name is on the title. I have to split the money to many 2 brothers and 2 sisters. I know that I will send them the copy of 1099s form to each bother and siste and file the red copy of the 1099s form to the IRS. I always use turbotax to efile my return every year; but this year I have to send in the red copy of 1099s form from each brother and sister to IRS. So if I efile my return, how do I send in the red copy of 1099s to IRS?
Since I do nominee money to my brothers and sisters, last year someone here told me that I can send in the 1099-s & 1096 forms separately to IRS after I finish e-filing. I wonder if can I send them before I finish e-filing. I know the dude's date.
