I believe I experienced the same issue you are referencing. We experienced a personal ID theft event last year, so when I completed the personal ID theft section, TT immediately took me into the business ID theft section. It would not accept a "no" answer to indicate we did not experience a business ID theft event!
This is one of many reasons why I will not be using Intuit TT next year. There are far too many inconsistencies and ambiguities.
mega-dittos. TT: did you or someone on your tax return experience business identity theft?
me: NO
TT: Who experienced the business identity theft? ______ **bleep** ______ Jane ______ Harry ______Sally
me: clicked CONTINUE
TT: You must pick one of the names
But it's none of the names. We selected NO for the business identity theft.
Let's see if there's any answers by morning. tax time draweth nigh!
that's funny. I used names from my elementary reading books in my example. TT bleeped out the 4 letter name that's often used for Richard. Seems like TT has a dirty mind. that name is very common!
Get out of the gutter.
Thank you hatedoingtaxes2. I believe I will spend next weekend on H & R block.
sorry, I was getting more frustrated the # of times I typed my situation. No one in my household has had any business identity theft but because I have a personal ip pin fore identity theft that happened years ago. it is making choose one member of the household. It does not offer "none of the above".

I just paid $5 but got the answer. I had to put that the other person in my household as having personal identity theft, even though they did not. Then the form says "you can leave blank" and I did and no info on business any more. You have to lie to the system.
