If I am not using any special forms, why isn't my Turbo Tax free?

I started to use the Teacher non reimbursed expense refund, but learned I would only get a $36 credit, so i canceled using this expense. Why isn't my Turbo Tax free?

Assuming you are referring to the Educator expense deduction, filing to include this would also require Schedule 1 to be attached to your return.   Therefore, it would not fit the option within TurboTax to file for free.
