Its saying I cannot e-file because my Return is claiming exemptions despite one taxpayer being claimed as a dependent on another's return. This is not true. how to fix?

I went through something similar years ago. Divorced, ex and I would each alternate years claiming child as a dependent, but she would claim her as basis for head of household. Because she did that, the efile wouldn't take. I always mailed in the return in hard copy and never had an issue with the IRS about it. Is that anything similar to your case?
