I was planning on claiming childcare, but my babysitter doesn’t claim income would me still claiming her using her ssn affect her in any way? I don’t want her in trouble

I just want to know if it will get her in trouble.

If you claim the child care credit, you have to provide the babysitter's name, address and SSN.

Babysitting income is considered as self-employment income by the IRS.

Your babysitter needs to report this income as self-employment income if it is over $400.

If she does not report it, she might receive a letter from the IRS asking why the income was not reported.

She must report the income, even if you do not claim it yourself.

But my question was if she didn’t and I do, that would affect her? Yes? We pay her $125 a week.
