I was on my dads health insurance until I turned 26 which meant I lost coverage on Oct. 1. and I switched jobs around the time it ran out. Should I still have the penalty

My new job doesn't provide coverage until after 90 days.

If you work and it physically shows you can not afford to go on your own and pay for health benefits is taken into account and you should not face a penalty. They will specifically ask you when your filing if the reason why your went without medical coverage for the last 3 months due to not able to pay for it because it is to expensive. Once you answered that question correctly it should then tell you whether you get penalized or not. I am assuming you will not get the penalty. Based on what you told me.
