I was a student last year and was claimed by my parent. Do i still files taxes on my own?

Yes if you got more than 6,300 on a W2 or had any self employment or 1099Misc income for any amount.  If you file your own return be sure to check the box that says you can be claimed on someone else's return.

Or if you made less than 6,300 you can file to get back any withholding taken out.
