What ever happened to the old turbotax? I have had nothing but trouble with it this year, but I managed to get it my return filed a month ago. Since I have not received my refund yet, I tried logging on to find status. After about 35 minutes, I was able to get it open and the screen said "Congratulaiton of fileing you 2023 taxes. Click status to see the status of your refund." I checked status and it said I hadn't filed any return this year. So, I went back into the section where I filed and this time it said I needed to file. I hit it and filed again. How do I know this went through and I can I get a person to help me? The chat room also doesn't work.

Sometimes users get confused and think paying their fees filed their tax return. You have to go all the way through the FILE section and click a big orange button that says "Transmit my returns now" in order to e-file your return. Did you do that?
Did you e-file? Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?
Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”
Note: If it says “Ready to Mail” or “Printed” that means YOU have to mail it yourself. TurboTax does not mail your tax return for you.
