I thought I was filing free with a simple tax return, but when closing I have only 2 choices, "plus and Max", how can I revert to free?

Unfortunately, something in your tax return is requiring an upgrade from Free Edition.

Try Free File. The name is similar to Free Edition, but there are no upgrade costs.

To you qualify

Make less than $34,000 a year or

Qualify for the Earned Income Credit or

Active military making less than $66,000
